UBTECH Walker S2

The Walker S2 is an industrial humanoid robot from UBTECH Robotics, a Shenzhen company that has worked on bipedal machines for years. It is aimed squarely at factory work rather than the home: car assembly lines, smart factories, logistics and data-collection roles. It stands 176 cm tall, weighs around 43 kg, and moves on two legs at up to 7.2 km/h.

Its stand-out feature is power. UBTECH describes the Walker S2 as the first humanoid that can swap its own battery, with no human involved. Using a dual-battery design, it walks to a station and changes its own pack in about three minutes, then carries on. That detail matters more than it sounds: most humanoids stop dead when their charge runs low, so a robot that tops itself up can, in principle, run across shifts rather than clocking off after a couple of hours.

On manipulation, the Walker S2 has 52 degrees of freedom in total, with 22 in its two hands and ten fingers between them. UBTECH quotes a 15 kg lifting capacity, a waist that rotates up to 162 degrees, and a deep-squat range that lets it reach items from floor level to about 1.8 metres. The intelligence side runs on what the company calls its BrainNet 2.0 architecture paired with a "Co-Agent" system for multi-step reasoning, with perception coming from dual RGB stereo cameras.

UBTECH said mass production and delivery began on 17 November 2025, with orders already exceeding 800 million yuan (roughly US$112 million). It has set out plans to build 5,000 industrial humanoids a year through 2026, scaling to 10,000 by 2027. There is no public consumer price — the Walker S2 is sold to businesses, and pricing is handled through enquiry rather than a storefront.
