Unitree H1 is a full-size, electrically driven humanoid robot developed by Hangzhou-based Unitree Robotics. Standing approximately 180 cm tall and weighing around 47 kg in its original configuration, it was the first universal humanoid robot in the company's lineup when unveiled in August 2023. Unitree describes it as the world's first full-size electric-driven humanoid robot capable of performing a standing backflip.
The robot has since evolved into two hardware revisions. The original H1 features 5 degrees of freedom per leg and 4 per arm, while the updated H1-2 revision increases this to 6 DoF per leg (with a 2-DoF ankle) and 7 DoF per arm, bringing the total to 27 degrees of freedom. The H1-2 is heavier at approximately 70 kg, reflecting the additional actuators and upgraded structure.
In April 2026, a specially modified H1 unit achieved a peak sprint speed of approximately 10 m/s (36 km/h) during a 100-metre demonstration, placing it among the fastest humanoid robots ever recorded. Multiple sources note this was a peak instantaneous speed rather than a sustained average, and the sprinting unit had its head and hand components removed to reduce weight.
