16 H1 Robots Perform at China's Spring Festival Gala
Sixteen Unitree H1 humanoid robots appeared in a co-ordinated performance during China's Spring Festival Gala broadcast. Unitree described this as the world's first large-scale, fully AI-driven, fully automated cluster humanoid robot performance, significantly raising the robot's mainstream visibility.

H1-2 Hardware Revision Confirmed
Unitree's official product page and developer documentation began presenting the H1 and H1-2 as distinct configurations. The H1-2 upgraded the ankle from 1 DoF to 2 DoF, increased arm DoF from 4 to 7 per arm, and added optional support for up to three NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX compute modules. Total weight increased from ~47 kg to ~70 kg.

H1 Backflip Demo Goes Viral
By early 2024, H1 had become widely known for its standing backflip demonstration. Unitree claimed it was the world's first full-size, electrically driven humanoid robot to complete a backflip in place. SCMP reported the robot had reached iteration 4.0 by this point.

H1 Officially Launched
Unitree Robotics unveiled the H1 as its first full-size universal humanoid robot. Standing approximately 180 cm tall and weighing ~47 kg, it was positioned as a highly cost-effective humanoid with a retail price below US$90,000. Unitree stated the robot was developed in roughly half a year and entered mass production shortly after launch.
