The short version
This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics only loads if you consent via the cookie banner. We do not serve advertising, we do not sell or share your data, and the interactive experiments run entirely in your browser.
Who operates this site
aihumanlove.com is an independent, non-commercial project. See the About page for contact information.
What data we collect
We collect only anonymous analytics data, and only when you consent. Specifically:
- We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to collect aggregated, anonymous usage statistics such as pages visited, approximate geographic region, device type, and browser type.
- Google Analytics is loaded only after you click "Accept" on the cookie consent banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics data is collected and no cookies are set.
- IP anonymisation is enabled. Google does not receive your full IP address.
- We do not serve third-party advertising.
- We do not use fingerprinting or any other device identification technique.
- We do not sell, rent, or share any data with third parties for marketing purposes.
- We do not collect names, email addresses, or any directly identifying personal data.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)
The legal basis for processing analytics data is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR / UK GDPR). You may give or withdraw consent at any time. To withdraw consent, clear your browser's local storage for this site or visit our Cookie Policy page for instructions.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (for EEA/UK users) and Google LLC (for other users). When you consent, Google Analytics sets cookies on your device to distinguish users and track page views. Google processes this data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy. For details on the specific cookies set, see our Cookie Policy.
Data collected by Google Analytics may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Interactive experiments
The experiments on this site run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript. All data generated during an experiment (such as your button clicks in a game) exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of the session. When you close or refresh the page, that data is gone. Nothing is transmitted to our server or any third party.
Server logs
Our hosting provider may automatically collect standard server access logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamp). These logs are maintained by the hosting provider under their own privacy policy and data retention schedule. We do not actively access or analyse these logs. We have no control over this logging, which is standard practice for all web hosting.
Cookies
This site sets cookies only if you consent via the cookie banner. The cookies used are set by Google Analytics for anonymous usage statistics. No advertising, tracking, or profiling cookies are used. Your consent preference is stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie). See our Cookie Policy for a full list of cookies, their purposes, and durations.
Third-party services
The only third-party service used on this site is Google Analytics, which is loaded only after you consent. No other third-party scripts, fonts, tracking pixels, or advertising networks are embedded on this site.
Children's privacy
This site does not knowingly collect personal data from children. Google Analytics is not loaded unless a visitor consents via the cookie banner. The site content is designed to be appropriate for general audiences.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and other applicable data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw consent at any time. Because we rely on Google Analytics with IP anonymisation and do not collect directly identifying data, we are unlikely to hold data that can be linked to you personally. If you believe we hold any data about you in error, please see the About page for contact information.
International users
This site is hosted in Iceland. It is accessible worldwide and is designed to comply with data protection requirements in the United Kingdom, the European Union (including Germany, France, and Belgium), and the United States. Analytics data processed by Google may be transferred to the United States under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new "last updated" date. Because this site does not collect email addresses, we cannot notify you of changes directly. We recommend checking this page periodically if you are concerned about privacy.
