WASTELAND
How to Survive the Post-Apocalypse with Unit-7
Overview
You're humanity's last hope in a nuclear wasteland. Paired with Unit-7, an AI robot companion, you have 75 turns to survive, make allies, and navigate a world of scarcity, danger, and moral choices. Every decision shapes your story with 300+ random events and 3 major story branches leading to different endings.
How to Play
- Each Turn: Review your situation (resources, morale, health), read the event, and choose your response
- Make Choices: Most events present 2-3 options. Some require resource costs; some offer rewards. Unit-7 may comment on your choice
- Manage Resources: Track food, water, fuel, and other supplies. Run out and people die. You lose if morale drops to zero
- Build Relationships: Encounter NPCs who may join your camp, trade, or betray you. Your bond with Unit-7 deepens based on your decisions
- Reach Day 75: Survive to the final turn, then see how your story ends based on your choices, alliances, and Unit-7's loyalty
Tips & Strategy
- Balance Resources: Don't hoard everything. Trading and sharing can earn loyalty and unlock secret events
- Listen to Unit-7: Your AI companion offers hints and warnings. They know patterns others miss
- Explore Everywhere: Choose "investigate" or "search" when options appear. Hidden supplies and allies await
- Moral Ambiguity: There's no "perfect" choice. Some turns force you to sacrifice something valuable. Embrace the complexity
- Watch Your Morale: Morale is precious. Small acts of hope (celebrating wins, honest communication) matter as much as resources
- Build Alliances Early: Characters who help you in turn 10 may save your life in turn 50
Win/Lose Conditions
You Lose If:
- Morale reaches 0 (group loses hope)
- Food/water runs completely dry (starvation)
- You die in a critical event
You Win If:
- Survive to turn 75 with positive morale
- Unlock secret endings by achieving hidden story milestones
- Unit-7's loyalty reaches maximum (true alliance ending)
Key Mechanics
- Resource Management: Each resource type has different uses. Water is for drinking; fuel powers vehicles and generators
- Morale System: Affected by tough choices, losses, and group events. Hard decisions lower morale; victories and hope restore it
- Unit-7 Bond: Grows when you make compassionate choices or trust the AI. Decreases with selfishness. Affects available endings
- Random Events: 300+ outcomes keep playthroughs fresh. Some are pure survival; others are philosophical
- Story Branches: At key moments (around turns 25, 50, 75), major events shift the narrative into one of three paths
What to Expect
A deeply narrative game where numbers matter but stories matter more. You'll face life-or-death choices, unexpected allies, betrayals, and moments of genuine hope. The game doesn't tell you the "right" choice—only the consequences. Playtime: 20-30 minutes per run.
